bonjour ~

Welcome to the twenties world! I was once told that the twenties are the best years to make an account of precious memories of life, dreams and love–doing so in the most vibrant manner possible.

recent update :
Korea: Jeju part 3
written on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 @ 1:48 PM ✈

안녕!

Jeju part 3

Really didn't expect this but Jeju got way too many photos that are worthy for upload i think? (Ok la, at least in my opinion, hehe) those are not all the photos as yet. I only selected some of them to be uploaded. i think i merely uploaded 10-20% only?

So from the previous post, after finishing lunch we are finally going to the waterfall!

I think we have combed most of the more famous waterfall in Jeju and some are really spectacular and worth going back again while there are some which are just money-grabbing, ignorable waterfall.

(Try to see if there is promotion for students/foreigners/groups since those savings might add up to a meal, since many places in Jeju are payable?)

(Many of these tourist attractions that collects entrance fee would have the famous hallansan orange chocolate on sale! The price ranges quite a lot even though they are the same chocolate/biscuit, so don’t try to get them too early, if not as the last resort you can get them inside Jeju airport as well. If I didn’t remember wrongly one of the cheapest chocolate came from the store near the Jeongbang waterfall ? (i think?) But it depends on your luck as well, since I think the price always changes depending on the competition among the store? ☺)

First waterfall is Cheonjiyeon Falls (천지연 폭포)

Cheonjiyeon, meaning "God’s pond," derives its name from the legend that the seven fairies serving the King of Heaven came down to the pond on stairs of cloud and bathed in its clean waters.

Well, don’t really worth your time going there(at least that is what i think?); nothing extraordinary as seen in the picture, not worth your perspiration and walking (save them for much better place in Jeju). it felt quite artificial?

(scenery on the way to the waterfall)

(can't even get a closer shot cause there are just too many people there already :( )

(while walking in to the waterfall)

Location:666-7, Cheonji-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do 666-7
제주 서귀포시 천지동 666-7

Admission Fee:

Individual: Adults 2,000 won/ Youths and Children 1,000 won
Group (10 or more persons): Adults 1,600 won/ Youths and Children 600 won

Next up is Jeongbang Falls (정방폭포) …

This felt like a real waterfall, and make me wonder why I did I go to the previous waterfall and paid about the same price? Feel free to experience the water there yourself, just be careful when doing so cause it falls directly into the ocean.
(top view down! Pretty isn't it? hahas)

(camera can't get too close to water, so that is us after playing :) very cooling! just be careful when climbling on the rocks to get closer to the waterfall! :) )

(isn't cool to have your seafood sashimi right beside the sea!! definitely the freshest!!)

If I didn’t remember wrongly they are ahjumas, (known as Haenyo? If they were the one who went into the sea to catch the seafood!) Selling raw seafood which is freshly caught from the sea? Too bad none of them wanted to try and was a bit too expensive to try on my own; they remove the unnecessary parts and eat them raw with some sauce provided! (Definitely going to try it when I am there again the next time round! I later realised most of the by the sea attractions have ahjuma who are selling food like this, really regret not trying it out :(( so don’t miss it if you are there!)

(isn't it pretty ?! :)) )
Exact address:

37, Chilsimni-ro214beon-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do
제주특별자치도 서귀포시 칠십리로214번길 37 (동홍동)

So we moved on to Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff (주상절리), which has cliff formation. The Jusangjeolli was formed when the lava from Mt.Hallasan erupted into the sea of Jungmun. This is so beautiful that I doubt I will ever forget (just that there are way too many tourists there)

(never ever seen such a blue sea, since singapore sea is usually greyish looking?)

(too crowded to get anyone of us in the pic without too many other ppl as well)
Can you see how blue the sea water is?! (This took us quite a long time to find cause we parked our car at the wrong area, almost gave up finding (someone thought that we are at a totally wrong place) but thank goodness YR and WQ persevered and proved my friend who is driving to be wrong.

A MUST to see the sea~~

Exact address:

Almost last stop of the day which is the … beach , this beach is famous for their coloured sand; many water sports are available too!! The tide here is higher than the one in Busan, with many surfers/learning-surfers as well! (Didn’t try any of the water sport since we didn’t bring extra clothings and it was quite near the 6pm curfew for beaches when we reached there, and the sea water was very cold!! :(( )

(we are finally here!!)

(well, the liveguard aren't suppose to be the focus of this picture, but oh well~)

(the water was really very cold!)

(can you see the different colours of the sands?! black, white, brown and orange as well!!)

Finally trying the black pork for dinner! Somehow think that it is nicer than normal pig and it was really tasty and juicy, and I really like Korean bbq! So many side-dishes to go along and can never get sick of it so easily! Not sure if the black hair on the skin of the pork was on purpose anot but it is really good! Must try it out again and again!

(PS: i think this is on the Day 2 night since we are not wearing the same thing anymore, oops!)

Ending the day with the last stop at Yongduam Rock (Dragon Head Rock) (용두암), before heading back to hostel but it was too late and too dark to have a good view of the sea.

(can you see a dragon head from here? :))  )

(pretty guiding light on the floor!)

Exact address :

It was time to get ready to leave Jeju for Seoul the next morning. Quite glad that we have decided to arrive on Thursday night so that we can have 2 full days of visiting unlike Busan! Many more places are uncovered as yet but quite an achievement already for those 2 days, really thankful for having friends with international license, planned the short trip before coming this time and kept up with positive mind despite being so tired. hahas

(took a cab to Jeju airport cause we were all too tired already)

(check in time, bye Jeju, i will miss you~)

(that's all for JEJU!)

So in all what should be done prior to Jeju?

1) Decide if you should book a car/taxi or take bus around.
2) Find out all the postal code and address of the places that you are interested in
3) Continue to do your homework even after reaching Jeju to see the route is suitable a not, to minimise extra miles travelled even by car (save time and petrol money:))
4) Wear appropriate attire/shoes (don’t try to be hero by wearing slippers for trekking, not good for your legs :)
5) Have the correct mentality and try everything new and you are good to go!!

There are so many places that I have yet to go in Jeju! Just listing a few only many more available!
1. UDO island!! (DEFINITELY!!)
2. Olle trail
3. Cave Café
4. Ecoland Train Trip
5. Horse riding
6. ATV Riding
7. Go Cart
8. JUST TOO MANY TO FINISH LISTING!!

That is all for now!
Will be back for more updates.

Till I am back again!
